Mr. Daniel P. WESTCOTT - Age 69, Grand Rapids, MI, Formerly of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, March 9, 1997 at the Michigan Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids where he had been a resident since 1991.  He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on March 16, 1927, and was a 1944 graduate of Comstock High School.  Mr. WESTCOTT was a member of Kalamazoo Local #324 Operating Engineers, and worked many years in the excavation/construction business. 
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps.  Surviving are his wife, Nancy (HOFFMAN) WESTCOTT of Battle Creek; daughters, Deborah Susan BRANNAN, Dana Louise RECK of Hickory Corners, and Holly Rae BURROWS of Battle Creek; 2 grandchildren; and 1 step-grandchild; sisters, June HALL of Delton and Marilou WESTCOTT of Kalamazoo.  He was preceded in death by a grandson. 
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, 105 Capital Ave. NE, Battle Creek where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the Marion Burch Adult Day Care Fund in Battle Creek.  (Kalamazoo Gazette March 1997)
